About singing with Sine Nomine:

Our singers come from all walks of life and include professional musicians as well as dedicated enthusiasts of choral singing. What we all have in common is the skill and discipline required to perform a capella repertoire within a small ensemble. Our material ranges from medieval to contemporary compositions, so the ability to read unfamiliar music is often critical.

If you are an experienced singer in the southeastern New England area and have a passionate interest in a capella repertoire, please contact us at any time about an audition by sending an email with your name, contact information, voice part and a description of your choral experience to:

Our audition coordinator will contact you with the details!

Auditions for our group will be conducted by our director,
and are based on the need to maintain a small chamber sound
and to balance voice parts.

Upon completing a successful audition, singers will be invited to rehearse with the group for three weeks. After the third rehearsal the Music Director may elicit input from other singers and will give the new auditioner his decision. Criteria for selection include sight-reading facility, vocal quality and technique, ensemble experience, and an ability to blend with the group.

Please note that if there is no current need for new voices, a singer may either be auditioned and a wait list created, or the audition may be deferred to a later time.

Sine Nomine rehearses on Monday evenings at The Unitarian Church in Fall River 309 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720. Our regular season typically runs from September through May.
