About Us
Sine Nomine is a twenty-four voice auditioned chamber choir based in Fall River, MA. Now in its 13th season, the ensemble performs music from the Middle Ages through the 21st-century, with a special emphasis on a cappella repertoire. Sine Nomine has collaborated with the Boston Camerata and was featured at the 2005 Organ Historical Society National Convention. Drawing its members from southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the ensemble was founded by Glenn Giuttari. In fall 2006, Paul Cienniwa became Sine Nomine’s second director.

Director

Paul Cienniwa has received praise for concerts given in Europe (“His mastery of the instrument and the quality of his playing delighted all those who came to listen.”—Le Cep; “un concert exceptionnel”—Le Dauphiné Libéré) and the United States (“Critic’s Choice”—Chicago Reader). He has appeared as conductor, soloist and ensemble player in venues in the U.S. and abroad, including the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments, Les Nuits Musicales de Corps (Corps, France), the Reformed Church in Toulon, France, and, since 2005, at the annual White Mountain Bach Festival in North Conway, NH. He is Music Director at First Church in Boston, where he can be heard weekly on WERS (88.9 FM) Boston, and he is Founding Artistic Director of Newport Baroque Orchestra. In 2003, Paul Cienniwa received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Yale University, where he was a student of Richard Rephann.
